Well....in this case, all that glitters is not "real" gold!  The latest skyscraper downtown is this new gold reflective glass building.  It is completely scratch built from a variety of craft and hobby material.  The frame of the building is foamcore with the "skin" made from metalized plastic and tapes.  It stands approximately 6 feet tall and is quite noticeable when the sunlight is falling upon it...!  I hope you enjoy the pictures and as always thanks for looking and commenting...

Thanks,

Alan

Thanks guys!!

Dave....the "glass" is made from a couple of rolls of metalized / plastic ....the kind you might find in a decorator or wall paper section of a store.  It has a brushed finish.  The floors are gold metal tape I found at Staples and the vertical window mullions are chrome metal tape from a local Walmart craft section.

I appreciate the interest and comments!  I had a couple of emails that asked about what the "framework" of the building was made from.  The basic shell is made from foam core and then the details have been layered on.  Unfortunately, I didn't think about taking construction photos as mentioned above...but while it is time consuming, getting the foil tapes straight is not as hard as it may appear.  Just a little tension (pulling of the tape) after securing it on one end results in a nice straight line for verticals as well as floors.

Thanks,

Alan
