I'm slowly making progress on the background for my upper level.  I liked the city scenes from Realistic Backgrounds and settled on using them. I put up sky backgrounds first even though the city scenes already have them. I then cut out the buildings I wanted to use since I'm modeling the 50s and some of them looked too modern.

This group was going to go behind the station, so I cut out the building that would have been hidden...

...and placed it behind this building flat.

Here is the rest of the group behind the station.

After that was in place I had this area to fill in.

I cut some foam board pieces to fit, glued them together, and then sheathed them with corrugated sheet.  I painted and weathered it, but still need to add some exterior details.

Here it is in place, looking like a small addition to the footwear factory.

These buildings were in two different scenes but I thought they looked pretty good next to each other, with the one on the right appearing to be behind and further away then the one on the left.

A narrow strip cut from one of the scenes filled in this gap.

A few overall shots.
