Grand Central Terminal revisited
I would like to scratch build something close to the original Grand Central Terminal in 1/48 scale.
Here is what I know.
The Main Concourse is the center of Grand Central. 275 ft long, 120 ft wide and 125 ft high.
What I have done is create a near scale drawing showing the overall features of the front. See the attached PDF.
My plan is to construct a model which is about 75% size of a 1/48 inch to the foot scale model. This would make the 275 foot length reduce down to about 50 inches in length. Overall height would scale to about 24 inches. The width of the model would scale to about 30 inches.
From the photos of the Terminal it appears that there is a mezzanine level and a street level in the main concourse.
