Pulled out of storage an MTH N&W U25B with PS3, 20-20222-2. I ran it a bit when I first bought it, but not in the last five or six years. I put a little oil on the axles, and some grease on the axle gears and idlers. Confused now about where else to grease. MTH steamers and three-axle (per truck) diesels I've seen have ports labeled "GREASE," but this loco doesn't.

The manual mentions removing two grease port screws (two per gearbox) and putting a small amount of grease in, but there are no pix of the ports - or at least they aren't labeled. Are those ports on the bottom of the truck, or are they accessed by removing the shell? Or somewhere else?

Pic of one of the trucks.

I am a bit of a klutz - well, more than a bit - don't want to go opening up things I don't need to.

Thanks for your help.

Again, to be clear, when you take out the motor mount screw to truck- then the entire truck can come down off the diecast motor mount pivot- except for the wires holding it up. Just warning you now if you intended to not go down that path. I use the wheels to rotate and pull the worm on the motor back into the truck when assembling- especially if you have the shell still on and the motor is basically just sitting in the chassis.

I'm a believer, if you are going to take the time to grease the trucks- go the next step- open the shell, check the smoke unit, oil the fan and so forth as a complete end to end maintenance. But that's just my opinion.
