While there may not be an over abundance of O gauge motive power and rolling stock at the show (at least newly released items), the show in my opinion is great for "idea shopping" and product awareness knowledge. The plethora of high quality modular layouts in all scales is amazing. The representation of exhibitors from the "cottage industries" (lesser known, low or non advertised hobbyists) is overwhelming. Perhaps not known for producing items for O gauge, their ideas are free. Plus in a lot (thanks Dotty) of cases you can speak with the actual representatives of the products. For me, not needing much in the way of either engines or rolling stock (but always on the lookout) the show can easily be a two day event.

Then why did I walk out with a engine I never intended to purchase?  My wife is so going to kill me.

The hobby store with the most product has to go to B&F out of Rhode Island.  Past few years they have had the best amount of product on hand.  It was them that got me to fork over my money at this show.

Second goes to Weaver for having their new B&M Pacific on hand.  Convinced me to order one from B&F Hobbies.

Gary, you said, "Then why did I walk out with a engine I never intended to purchase?"

That's called an "impulsive purchase", especially when you already have that same type of engine that you now have listed for sale. Unfortunately I'm afraid that a lot (thanks Dotty again) of us have fallen prey to that kind of behavior. Just some of us might have a little more constraint when dealing with the kind of dollars you are talking about. Enjoy your new purchase................................PLEASE!

I think Chris got the sub car from the same guy...RGS Trains?

Everybody Else,

Enjoyed the day and hanging out with a lot of train "experts"... the Red Rose makes some great food!  Great way to finish the day!
