Greenberg Show Edison

???  The show in August was much better attended.  At 1:30 today it was like flipping a switch and the crowds disappeared 😕

I was there this morning at 10 O’clock when they first opened. I needed some John Deere trains and nobody had any! The show over the Summer was much better and bigger. I had a budget of 300 dollars and bought some nice Lionel cars for 20 bucks each. I’m going tomorrow a hour before they close. That’s when you get the real bargains.

Interesting observations........ I live two miles from the Expo Center and I have done this show many times as a vendor when my friend had the hobby shop. But now I am on the other side of the table

I was there at 11 and I thought the show was packed, more people there then I could remember seeing from the past. A lot of people had packages so they were buying. But I do remember shows in the past where the buying was heavier and larger items. Did not see as many sets today. As Greg posted it did seem like about 2PM there was much more room. Perhaps since it was a clear day everyone went to put up their Christmas lights. I did see the estate sale where it seemed every car on the table in their boxes was $20, very nice . Seen prices that were ridiculous high for items in sad shape. The summer show was arranged different so it looked bigger it was not. This show is a normal size Greenberg show and this show had a few extra layouts in the area usually behind the black curtain Curious though there were no announcements today over the PA system has been the case in the past. Since I live so close I will go back tomorrow and hopefully see some old friends that were not there today

Frank

Guys, the August show had far fewer tables, the rable arrangement was different with much bigger aisles.   I left around two, it was thinning out but i cant remember the last time i had to search for a parking spot, thats my measure.  By and large enjoyed the show especially the well beautiful scenery on the three rail modular layout.  I have no idea how they transport those modules and keep everything intact.

There is a new show promoter in that Frank Hicks who did work for Greenberg for many years decided to move on. Frank did an excellent job announcing the layouts almost hourly along with door prizes.
I don’t know the new show person there but he needs to pick up where Frank left off. Frank was a very nice and approachable guy. Going to miss Frank at the shows.

I guess I hit him on bad days.  Thought he was a jerk
