Happy Birthday to all who are serving or have served in the Marine Corps. While I am career USAF both my father and father-in-law retired as USMC Master Sergeants, having served in WW II and Korea. One of my fondest memories is when my mother and father would leave for the Marine Corps ball and I would see my dad in his dress blues. My wife and I always take a minute to remember and honor  our dads on this day and all the other men and women of the Marines.

Tomorrow bring Armistice / Veteran's Day, I will be thinking of my dad (USMC, Viet Nam duty) who passed last year.  Having been raised as though we were in boot camp, I say thank you to one and all veterans for your service and sacrifices.

Late reply, sorry ...   Thanks for posting!   Semper Fi.    Dad fought in Korea (Marines)  Uncle Jerry fought in the pacific (Marines)  Grand pap in WWI France,  2 Uncles were in WWII,  GG Grandpap was with the Pa 55th in the Civil war with GG Uncle.  My son fought in Iraq (Army).   I was in the Marines at the end of the Vietnam War.

God bless the United States Marine Corps!  I always thought I would do really good in basic training, then get killed within five minutes of actual combat.  If you are a Marine, you are either in the fight or training to get there soon.  I can't believe guys volunteer for that.  But, I love you guys for doing it.  As long as we are on the same side, I feel safe.  Land of the free and home of the brave.  Cheers.
