I don't recall seeing any posts from Andre of River Leaf models for awhile. He used to post quite often, has he been posting and I've just missed them?

I have sent several e-mails. After a long wait his wife replied to say she was sorry. That was all.
I looked on Facebook on my phone, and the last thing they put up was Dated July 17 stating that that River Leaf Models was going to be in Standby for 2 months. In order to attend overseas business. They made sure to state they were not shutting down, just nothing is going to be done in those two months. If I am right it should be getting close to they end of that. Unless something did end up happening to him.
I have a call into Andre, I'll let you guys know as soon as I have any info.
Thanks
Alex
I hope everything is alright. Going to miss him at York... He made some really nice products that I have put on the list to order.
I believe Andre is on an overseas job and just couldn't be around to do the modeling while he's away.
He also made contribution to the forum through one on one involvment outside of the business aspect. I didn't even realise he was a sponsor for a long time. It slipped by me with his humble approach to it all. I think on the working vice he mentioned selling one and I finally made the connection.
I also emailed him last week just to say hey, wish him and his family my best, and let him know his presence was missed by me. I figured he might be traveling for his "other job" too. It's nice to know I'm not alone in my thoughts.
I hope everything is okay. I not sure if I have ever come across his stuff before, but upon seeing this I am glad I did. I will have to see about getting some stuff from him.
Letting everyone know Andre said on 7/17/17 that River Leaf would be on standby for 2 months. Then heard three weeks ago that Andre’s very busy with a new job he took that would keep him out of the country for a few months. He may not have decent internet south where he is since an email he sent by Andre first week of September had an attached link that when clicked made anti virus program go crazy with a warning in red upper case that said that the link was infected do not open.
He was a forum sponsor. Like John said he took a overseas job. Would make sense to suspend sponsorship while he is away.
Hello everyone,
I spoke with Andre this morning, he's over sea's and will be back sometime in January. River Leaf Models will be fully operational again at that time . Unfortunately he will miss this coming York meet, but will be at the April York meet.
Thanks, Alex
Alex, thanks for checking for us! I have several of Andre's products and intend to order more! Met him at York a while back and thought he was terrific!
Thank you Alex for the update.
Thanks Alex.
In think he contacted everyone that wrote. He has made a post or two in the last 2 weeks as well to assure us he is well and has plans to continue his modeling offers in the future.
He didn't want to have things produced without his personal oversight to assure quality.
The "other job" may take a bit longer than originally expected I guess.
For anyone who missed this post last week, here's an update Andre posted to another forum on October 3rd, 2017, which I reposted here on OGR that same afternoon -
Hi Guys!
Has been a long time from my last post.
Long story short, the project I am working on it (no model trains related) is taking longer than we expected, so I will leave again for a while.
I came home last week to make some stock and fix some shingles and trees after Irma, thanksgod family is fine and now I have some time to update the website and chat in the forum.
River Leaf Models still alive with some limitation in custom products. I will try to respond as soon I have time, during my training overseas I will not be able to answer question, but my wife can take your call.
So far no new models but few in mind. thank you for your support and understand
Andre."
Hi to all,
It is, I have been busy attending a class for a new printing press. The first one will be installed in January next year and we are tight in time. I disconnect form the media a little, to keep focus in this new project.
My wife is answering the emails received, but in some case she have to address them to me, causing some delays.
Thank you for understanding and support.
I really will miss next York Meeting.
Andre.
Great hearing from you Andre. I wish you the best in ALL your endeavors and look forward to seeing you at the Spring 2018 York Show.
Very good to hear you are well and prospering, Andre.
FrankM.
Hi Andre, good to hear from you. I started this post just to make sure you were doing well and no misfortune had befallen you. Glad all is well. Good luck with the new press.
Most of you may know this. Click the link below. Dated as of 10/31/2022.
Andre created excellent models and I am sad to lose this resource.
I did not know that. I am sorry to hear this. Andre is a great guy. I enjoyed meeting and talking to him at York. He made some great products of which I have a couple. I will definitely miss him and his business.
I am sad to see this resource going away (never got the chance to order anything from them), but I am glad Andre himself appears to be okay.

Glad to hear that you and your family are well. I have tried unsuccessfully to contact you for quite some time. I miss our conversations and collaborations. If you do ever get some time, I am still interested in a project we discussed some time ago.

Totally agree. Andre made some unique structures. I wish Andre and his family all the best but definitely sorry to see him leave as a manufacturer.
I feel fortunate that I still have two unbuilt kits......sad.....he made great products and will be missed.
This has to be my favorite:
I wish Andre and his family well....wherever he is or is doing.

Agree with all. I have some of his kits, and would visit with him at York. But what will I remember best was when he made the trim pieces, the unique Saddle and Spur bar name and the billboard for my model of the Gadsden Hotel, the major hotel in my hometown in Southeast Arizona. It took years to get around to building the hotel, but the trim pieces waited.

Nice work Laz.
Here are a couple of buildings I built and a picture of Andre and I at a RI train show

Now if only we could get MegaSteam to formulate the wonderful tomato and garlic smell that comes out of the rear of the Senape's Tavern building's basement kitchen vent located near the back entrance.
BTW, I'd definitely pass on the Elbow Room scent
NICE PICS WOOD!!!👍👍
KEYSTONE, ROTFLMAO!!! Funny YOU know all about SENAPES!!! What a great place for a couple of rounds with skamutz and an antipasto to go!!! Boy I miss that good food.
