I looked on Facebook on my phone, and the last thing they put up was Dated July 17 stating that that River Leaf Models was going to be in Standby for 2 months. In order to attend overseas business. They made sure to state they were not shutting down, just nothing is going to be done in those two months. If I am right it should be getting close to they end of that. Unless something did end up happening to him.

He also made contribution to the forum through one on one involvment outside of the business aspect. I didn't even realise he was a sponsor for a long time. It slipped by me with his humble approach to it all. I think on the working vice he mentioned selling one and I finally made the connection.

I also emailed him last week just to say hey, wish him and his family my best, and let him know his presence was missed by me.  I figured he might be traveling for his "other job" too. It's nice to know I'm not alone in my thoughts.

Letting everyone know Andre said on 7/17/17 that River Leaf would be on standby for 2 months. Then heard three weeks ago that Andre’s very busy with a new job he took that would keep him out of the country for a few months. He may not have decent internet south where he is since an email he sent by Andre first week of September had an attached link that when clicked made anti virus program go crazy with a warning in red upper case that said that the link was infected do not open.

In think he contacted everyone that wrote.  He has made a post or two in the last 2 weeks as well to assure us he is well and has plans to continue his modeling offers in the future.

He didn't want to have things produced without his personal oversight to assure quality.

The "other job" may take a bit longer than originally expected I guess.

For anyone who missed this post last week, here's an update Andre posted to another forum on October 3rd, 2017, which I reposted here on OGR that same afternoon -

Hi Guys!
Has been a long time from my last post.
Long story short, the project I am working on it (no model trains related) is taking longer than we expected, so I will leave again for a while.

I came home last week to make some stock and fix some shingles and trees after Irma, thanksgod family is fine and now I have some time to update the website and chat in the forum.

River Leaf Models still alive with some limitation in custom products. I will try to respond as soon I have time, during my training overseas I will not be able to answer question, but my wife can take your call.

So far no new models but few in mind. thank you for your support and understand

Andre."

Hi to all,

It is, I have been busy attending a class for a new printing press. The first one will be installed in January next year and we are tight in time. I disconnect form the media a little, to keep focus in this new project.

My wife is answering the emails received, but in some case she have to address them to me, causing some delays.

Thank you for understanding and support.

I really will miss next York Meeting.

Andre.

Glad to hear that you and your family are well. I have tried unsuccessfully to contact you for quite some time. I miss our conversations and collaborations. If you do ever get some time, I am still interested in a project we discussed some time ago.

Agree with all. I have some of his kits, and would visit with him at York.  But what will I remember best was when he made the trim pieces, the unique Saddle and Spur bar name and the billboard for my model of the Gadsden Hotel, the major hotel in my hometown in Southeast Arizona.  It took years to get around to building the hotel, but the trim pieces waited.
