Howdy!

I currently own a secondhand MTH ALCO S-2 diesel switcher.  Right now it's a shelf queen but since I don't feel like plonking down bucks for the latest version of MTH"s control system. Since I don't plan to MU it with another locomotive, I'm thinking about converting it to Blunami.

Has anyone made such a conversion and were there any problems fitting a Blunami inside the smaller confines of a typical diesel switcher's hood?

Not an MTH S-2, but I am looking to put Blunami into a Lionel S-2 in the near future. So far from what I have measured it'll fit. The Lionel version has one centered vertically mounted motor - where is the motor(s) in the MTH version?

Tightest fit I have put Blunami into thus far is a Weaver RS-3 with a horizontal motor, where the motor and chain drive take up the full space from over the fuel tank to the front of the engine. I had to align the board so it was mounted vertically, with the connection to the current-keeper (which is the only connection on the long edge of the PCB) in the cab area where the wire could be routed up and looped over.
