Jack

Actually they are not weathered. They are fresh out of the shop. Weathered wheels would look varying shades of grey heading toward greasy.

I'll plead the 5th on the paint job, but, it is nice the first responders were acknowledged.

On second thought, if the stripes and road numbers had been done in gold-leaf trimmed in black, they really would have had something, but, no one asked me.

HW, you are, of course, correct.  It was posted on Real Trains forum 6 hours ago and received less than 10 replies, and had 173 views, the last being 2+ hours ago.

Having the same information here on the Hi-rail forum yields 300+ views in only 2 hours and more than 10 replies.

Hopefully this thread won't get moved to Real Trains forum where it will die.

...and hopefully the manufacturers of O gauge trains will see it here, and realize that we want this type of engine produced in this paint scheme.

As I don't frequent the real trains forum that often, I didn't know that. Besides showing this engine the point of this thread was to show interest in seeing it get made as well as the other 2 engines mentioned in my original thread.

Clearly that's an indication that a nice person like you shouldn't be thinking such thoughts.

Nice comparison shot.  I love NS livery -- ever since I saw my first switcher coming out of the night with rearing horse and flashing ditch lights, but this paint scheme strikes me as needing a bit more blue (to honor police as well as fire and EMTs). Just my reaction. Ultimatetly, they did a great job balancing the red and black. So, yeah, a cool model in the making.
