I've been working on a Diner/Lounge interior for a K-Line pullman car. Some of the old pullman cars were converter to diner/lounge, mine is loosely based on a Frisco prototype, but the K-Line car is only 72 feet long so I had to compress things a little. This is still in the early stages, next will be to paint everything and install and wire the lights. Still a long way to go, but this is a project that has been on my to do list for years. Eventually it will be a 4 car train with a baggage, RPO or combine, a coach and this diner/lounge.

Nice.
Is one of the older "heavyweights" series card they put out?
I'd like to put an interior into one of their observations for a custom paint (looking for the car as well...).
Where did you get the interior parts?
Nice work!
Nice! Look forward to your progress

This car and the others I'm working on are the early K-Line cars that came with the silhouette windows. I converted them to 2 rail with their conversion kits that still show up at train shows and online auctions. I modified the conversion kits so the cars would ride lower. I posted that a while back. It didn't generate a lot of interest.
The interior parts are mostly from Scale City Design, formerly Keil Line parts. The floor, tables, dividers and walls I made from styrene. Some of the kitchen parts are K-line parts I bought about a year ago. They are for the 0-27 passenger cars so I had to put them on spacers. I also found some of the parts for the kitchen here: https://kitkraft.com/products/1-48-scale-kitchen
I have a couple older Williams and Lionel cars that don't have interiors and will get to them at some point too. There are ready made passenger cars available now with full interiors, but I had these cars and as long as you don't run them with the 80 footers they look pretty good. In addition, I wanted to make the diner/lounge. I've actually wanted to try passenger car interiors since I was very young. I bought a walthers kit for an HO car when I was in grade school but found it too difficult for my modeling skills.
I see the older K-Line observations on eBay pretty often. There is a observation convention car that came with an interior too and those show up now and then.
Next step for me is to start painting then attaching the chairs.
