I recently picked up a 442 Diner.  The owner had wired in an old Christmas tree light socket and run the wires out through a window.  The original light socket is still attached to the roof brace but all of the original wiring is long gone.  From looking on line in appears the wires came out of the diner underneath the right rear door.  But how is the diner wired?  Could someone please take the roof off a diner that has the original wiring and attach a photo so I can see how it's done?  Obviously the hot lead goes to the center of the light socket but where is the ground wire attached?  And how do they snake their way through the bottom and out the back.

Thanks so much for your help.

The wires attach to the center (as you indicate) and the ground wire attaches to the bulb securement screw at the bottom of the socket.... they go out the bottom through the truck mounting hole. Look for a hole on the bottom of the baseplate and use that to guide wires into the diner.
