I have an MTH VO1000, MTH 30-2903-1  PS2. It has been running and working just fine until yesterday.

It starts up, I have horn and bell, tower talk, and everything else for sound. but when I try to move it in either forward or reverse, it just sits on the track and does not move.

I have cycled the engine several times in start up and shut down, nothing. I have reset the track voltage several times, nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ray, I had this exact same issue happen with an MTH engine this evening.  Different engine than yours but same problem.  Everything worked (engine sounds, horn, bell, couplers, etc.), but it wouldn't move.  I tried a feature reset first...no luck.  Then I did a factory reset and reloaded the engine into the DCS remote.  That did the trick as everything works perfectly now.

When you do a factory reset if the engine has been locked in a direction it should clear.  You do need a fully charged battery that will play shutdown sounds when you turn off track power.

The conventional reset is done with a transformer.  You raise voltage to about 10V and press 1W and 5B is sequence.  You will hear 2 toots confirming the reset.  G
