I want to paint an NP F3/7 in the "Early Passenger Paint Scheme". According to Microscale Decal sheet, the "Dark Green" color is "close to Floquil Brunswick Green". Since Floquil is no longer available, is the Scalecoat PRR Brunswick Green close enough?
Looking at various color images of the NP paint scheme, it runs the gambit from a dark green to a dark brown.
Anyone have suggestions and info as to what "Dark Green" is best for this paint scheme?

Ray try looking at "Tru Color" paint for the NP dark green.
Paul, thank you but I wonder if the Tru Color paint, TCP-057 is used on the Loewy scheme. I will check it out as soon as I can get to my hobby shop.

Just remember that Tru Color is an acrylic paint vs an enamel like ScaleCoat II. It takes practice to use acrylics as the paint can dry in the tip of the air brush causing problems.

If you mean what some people refer to as The Pine Tree Paint Scheme for Passenger service (pre Loewy) the roof, except for a small area over the cab, is basically black. I much prefer this scheme over the Loewy.

Ray, get yourself a set of NP Color Drift Cards from the NPRHA Company Store. It includes the 1947 passenger Pullman Green and Light Green cards you need
I wish more of the RR historical societies would produce a color reference product like this....

PS: Found a neat sign in O scale that fits my current project of painting a couple of NP NCL dome pax cars.
Here's a few pictures of MTH's interpretation of the early scheme. These cars were the first issue I believe of cars painted in this scheme ~ 2004. The roof is black while sides appear more dark brown with hint of green. I don't own any PRR stuff but they don't appear as dark as Brunswick green.
