Help Please. Broken Electrical Roller Pickup - RIO GRANDE FLYERCHIEF GP7 #5100SKU: 192118

Following, I have the same issue on the same engine.  

I don't have a broken pickup on my GP but looking at mine, it appears that there is a friction retainer on the on the pickup below the soldered wire. You may be able to just push the broken pickup out after unsoldering the wire.

I still don't understand what he meant by "power pick-up."   Looks like he needs an entire new truck?

I think he took the truck apart to work on the pickup.

That's the power pickup in flyer diesels.

All. Thanks for your good suggestions. I did receive the parts ordered from Lionel and plan to work on the repair this upcoming weekend. I will report back. Mike
