I created a lashup with two MTH SD70 UP Heritage locomotives pulling a long string of Atlas Gunderson Stack cars. It made about half way around my layout, THEN THE TRAIN STOPPED!!! I looked at the remote screen and it said LOSS OF POWER RESET REMOTE AND TIU. I now have no power to the track. I am dead in the water. How do I reset the TIU? What could have caused this?

You get that message if you hit the Estop. Usually all you do is turn the TIU power and the remote off and start over. Do you have transformer power?
Yep the transformer powers right up. I unplugged the TIU and the plugged it back in, but that didn't do it.
I fear something serious. I checked the circuit breakers on the z4000, they are all good.
LOSS OF POWER RESET REMOTE AND TIU. I ve never seen this one with the dcs remote??
If the e=stop was hit a power down of the remote & tiu is all that's required (as mentioned above) That would include an aux power supply. Does the LED on the tiu light up? Maybe you just blew a internal Tiu fuse.
Yep the red power light is on. I've never had any problems before. I'm going to bed, maybe it will magically fix itself overnight.
Mr UP..how did you make out?
Clint,
ALL STOPPED!RESET TIU ANDREMOTE POWER!
You must power off both the TIU and the remote. When you power both back on, all should be well.
This and a whole lot more is all in “The DCS Companion 3rd Edition!" This book is available from many fine OGR advertisers and forum sponsors, or as an eBook or a printed book at OGR’s web store! |
Barry,
I got up at 3:00am this morning because I couldn't sleep. Yep, it was bothering me. I went up to my train room, turned off, unplugged everything. I drank a cup of coffee and then plugged everything back up and powered up. Back to normal. Ok, I'm somewhat embarrassed. I have the 2nd and 3rd editions of your excellent book. Sometimes when something happens, I get into a panic and can't find what I need in the book. I've been operating for almost a year using the wifi app on my iPad. I had to use the DCS controller for a lashup, yep, my finger hit the emergency stop...dang! Well, now I know that feature works great. Thanks!
...one thing about this forum is you will get your answer and fast..Makes my DCS world a joy!!!!
Clint,
Don't beat yourself up - we've all been there and, most likely, will be there again sooner or later.
I'm happy that I could help!
