I am on my second iteration of my train layout, and this time I have trying to set up block sections to park engines on sidings and have it powered by a separate transformer.

Currently when I have a Lighted Car  go from one section with separate transformer to the other it shorts out and trips the breaker on the transformer, that is going to be for that siding.

I am currently testing it with some rolling stock that way I don't destroy one of my engines.

I am not sure if I should move the Atlas insulating connector to where the switch connects to the siding, or if I am missing something to get it working the way I think it should in my head.

Image are included and notes are made to give reference.

Sorry BobCat I can't flip the plug around since it is a modern transformer that has the polarized plug. I will need to double check into trying to get them phased correctly. Though I will need to determine the best way to do it since I am using what were former MTH Transformers and the TIU that everything goes throw.

If you're using only the two transformers you can turn over the other x former's plug and gain the same thing. Or, if that won't work and you have a two prong adapter you can use it on one of the x formers temporarily to do the same experiment.

Are the two plugged into the same source? I use two power strips and had to swap one of them.

Make sure the outlets feeding your layout if using different ones are on the same breaker. If not they are on different phases.
