This engine (PS3) would will not start and was not found with remote, wifi,RTC I placed this engine on my programming track and got the same results. I then tried to read the program that is in the board and engine was not found. The engine will not run in conventional mode either but will start up if I place it on the track without the watch dog signal but I have no control. HELP

Thanks Henry

Hi, did you try a conventional reset, that might reset the engine and then be able to control in conventional! then power down and bring voltage up to 10 volts and wait for engine to start up with sounds etc, then try to control forward and backwards! if you then can control in conventional. power down and start up with dcs !

UPDATE

If I place the engine on the track in conventional mode with the remote then apply power from 0 to 18 volts nothing happens. With 18 volt on the track and then hold down the DIR button (witch cuts the power)  for 10 seconds or so then release it the engine will start up and I can run it in conventional mode. The Horn/Bell forward and reverse work fine. I did a reset and that work fine. After that I drop voltage back to zero volts then replied power I get nothing . I also went back and tried to load the engine in DCS and got (no engine found). There are no other engines in my remote

Alan, how do you do a conventional reset if the engine will not start up/run in conventional?

Can be a power to board issue if it has a 2R/3R switch, or maybe a broken wire.  Otherwise, sounds like the board died.  Might be repairable, a few faults can be.  Need a tech who does PS-3 component repairs to look at it.  G
