Hi all just wondering if i can power up a ps2 3 volt board red and black wire harness only, want to use as a trouble shooting aid, but wanted to make sure any components unloaded would damage the boards, does the speaker have to be connected or will it blow the audio IC electronics?

Want to use as a trouble shooting aid if it is safe to do so!

No problem. You can load a sound file with only the 7pin and battery connected. But no issue with just 7 pin. G

thanks George can you tell me which color wire the pin 7 is and what connector it is on, can you put a picture of connector and board socket,. Thanks George.

I believe that George is referring to the 7-pin connector, not to some pin number 7.
