Today I have posted several of my hobos on another threads, including the one about keeping the inebriated drunks off our model trains.
However, since hobos are a favorite topic of mine, I will share my hobos here for your convenience:
The 2nd above photo shows figures that are in the set of 6 homeless people.
The next photo shows the popular Lionel cop and robber car (or is it the cop and hobo car?). Whatever it's called, I find that most people who see it in action love it.
I will post a better picture of the cop and robber/hobo car and trestle later.
Arnold
who makes/sells these hobos please?
HCLARK,
Try woodland scenic.
Arttista makes great metal hobos and other O Scale figures.
My Woodland Scenic hobos. I picked the boxcar from a junk pile, re-painted it and set it on basswood "railroad ties."
Great looking hobos, Rpmcobra and John. Arnold
just ordered 2 to ride on a boxcar on my layout. Arttista has a variety and they look pretty good.

My apology to hobos everywhere
Ok I have to chime in with a “things you never knew” about your relatives... My favorite uncle just passed and his daughter shared with us his adventures hitch hiking from NJ to CA in 1942 with his best friend. They ran out of rides west of Chicago & decided to hop a train. The only “open” car was a gon with steel plates, a rookie’s choice. There was no sleep with the noisy plates. They did avoid the RR police and slipped off at water stops to get some for themselves. But the tunnels about killed them. They did arrive CA alive & retrieved older brother’s car - who would not be needing it in the Pacific theatre.

Yes - I was just about to suggest that a more, ah, politically "acceptable" term for hobo is long overdue. I do seem to be, though, fresh out of ideas.
I guess it's not surprising that hobos would hang out behind a diner next to the tracks, maybe hoping that some kind and well-fed soul might offer them a quarter or maybe even a dollar for a cup of coffee and a sandwich before they hop a freight. Mel's Diner seems to attract these folks.

If curious, check this site for a long list of Hobo jargon.
Melgar, Arnold just wondering how those same hobos got all the way over to Maui? As far as I know, no trains can get here. Don

No sure of the jargon, but I believe a hobo on a boat may be called a stow-a-way. If so, the hobos got to Maui by being stow-a-way. LOL, Arnold
IMO, one cannot have enough hobos on a layout. Same is true for drunks, criminals, trouble-makers, and all the rest who live "on the other side of the tracks." Arnold
PS, I find writing posts and replies on this Forum goes very well with watching ball games on TV.

Doing that right now

They are probably freight ship hobos...

Lionel's Hobo Water Tower is a great piece, but its too dark to see the the hobos swimming inside the tank. I added a blue LED to correct this fault.
Lionel's Hobo Camp is another excellent piece, and the hobo figures are excellent. I bought extra hobos, trashed a Rail King boxcar and viola, a significant hobo camp.
The Hobo Water Tower and Hobo Camp are actuated by push buttons along the fascia of the bench-work.

Are you kidding me? Lionel actually made a hobo water tower with a hobo swimming in it?
Love it.
What does the hobo water tower do when you push the button?

When I played the video, all it did was play the tune of Beautiful Dreamer; otherwise I didn't see or hear it do anything. Arnold
Out of the box, that's all it does. Plays the song Beautiful Dreamer when you push the button. There's a built-in speaker in the Water Tower. The campfire also flickers continuously whether the button is pushed or not.
