I often have problems getting settings to hold, like deceleration & acceleration rates and brake squeal. I set them to where I want them (1 for the rates, off for the squeal), and then they're right back where they started. Both PS2 & PS3; using DCS V4.30. (I don't recall if this was a problem with earlier versions.) Seems to happen with all 4 of the remotes, which are cloned from #4. Same problem seems to exist with volume on a new PS3.
Any ideas?

FYI...
ACC and DEC are set only in the remote where you change them, brake squeal (or not) is set in the engine).
I'm aware of that, but I find it impossible to turn off brake squeal on most locos, and the acc/dec rates won't hold. Instead of at 1, I find them at 0 and 39, and everywhere in between.
To turn off squeal, you press the button under "OFF" and then press thumbwheel. Correct?

So why doesn't it "take"?
Are you pressing the thumbwheel to lock-in the new values? Refer to the E-mail I sent you a few minutes ago.
Go figure: I startup my PS3 Decapod. On Remote #2, I go to MENU/CONTROL/ACC setting. It says 32. I start up Remote #4, go to Control/ACC setting, it says 1. I press the thumbwheel to save it. Go back to Remote #2 go to the Decapod and the ACC setting, and now it says 1.
After I power down the layout and restart after a few minutes, we're back to the original 32 on #2.
