When I was working with N scale, I had a few gondolas with rock loads (I don't remember the manufacturer's name). I thought it was one of the best looking loads I had seen. However, I couldn't find a rock load in O scale. A trip to the garden, a piece of cardboard & a hot glue gun later, I had my rock load. I am sure others make their own loads, so lets see some photos!P7220397

Here's a few of my more recent home made freight loads.  The first photo shows Menard's 14-1/2 " Alaska RR flats.  While the first has a Coast Guard helicopter like the one offered by Menard's this is my copy,  I have three US Coast Guard helicopters and one Canadian Coast Guard helo so I was going to mount all four on the flats but decided to change things up. The boat is a battery operated toy, the excavator is a Siku die cast that had the correct colors so some Alaska decals were added and the Jordan spreader is home made from Amtrak spreader parts, a wood frame and some weaver trucks also decaled for the ARR.

IMG_0681Again we have Menards flats , I doubled up on rocket fuel tanks on one flat car and added a K-line patriot missle battery to the other.
