One of my customers asked me to reproduce a house from a painting of it that he had. The house has been demolished , so all that exists is the painting.

Alan,
House looks pretty sweet.

I just completed the house model. The customer did not ask me to match the green color of the top half of the house in the painting, so I an aqua green with a dark green over it. The customer also asked that I use rolled roofing. I went to Home Depot and got the stick-on step material that they sell. This product is made by #M and worked very well.
Russ, Bill, Dennis, Walter, Alan, Alex and David,
Thank you for your compliments. I appreciate them very much.

That looks absolutely amazing, great job!! Did you use styrene?
Mike,
Thank you. I used sytrene for the entire construction except the roof shingles.

Alan
You have a great talent.
It certainly looks like the real deal.
A video of the tools and methods used in the construction one of these model structures would be both interesting and motivating.
Thank you very much for posting your photos on the forum.
WOW!!!...it looks so real. Alan...thanks so much for all of your beautiful models. You are definitely an inspiration
Alan

Thanks for sharing.
Wow! That looks fabulous!!! Malcolm
Fantastic craftsmanship.
Alan,
very nice!
Is that all styrene construction?
Beautiful job!!! Do you have any videos on how to do this. I'd be interested. Thank you.

Alan, fine looking creation. Alan you know me well enough, so I have to ask the question.......Does it have lights??
Guys,
Thank you very much for the compliments.
Patrick,
The model is all styrene. I used Evergreen siding,Plastruct patterned sheet for the foundation and 3M stair anit-slip tape for the roof.
Charlie/laz,
I would have to have somebody with the ability to take a picture and run a video recorder. I would be happy to go over all the details of construction with anyone interested. Maybe Alan should convince OGR to do a story.

Fantastic. This is a great job - you paid a lot of attention to the photo. there are so many things that really look good on it - the roof and chimneys, the porches, windows. Very good.
Lee,
Thank you very much for the compliment.
Bill,
I read your post too fast last week and missed the "lights" question.
I really should know better and had put lights in the model but I did not. I would never get away without lights doing something for you (lol)

Alan you can just call me "Thomas Edison"
Beautiful Work! Styrene is amazing and your application of it was perfect.
Leon,
Thank you. It could probably look a lot better if I knew how to take photographs.
Trainman 2001,
Thank you. I love working with styrene. When I started modeling things in the early 80's, styrene was starting to come in as a good modeling material. Some people would not buy things from me because they were not made of wood.
Bill,
I was wondering how long it would take you to respond to a "lighting " comment. I figured you were digging out from all the snow you must have in Michigan.
Alan
THAT looks like a real house....wonder why its prototype was demolished?
Alan, quick question for you... what thickness of styrene was used for this build?
