I have a one year old MTH Premier Caboose that I run in DCS mode at about 16 volts. The caboose came with 3 interior lights and was very brightly lit. I removed 2 of the 3 lamps, and the lighting is still too bright. I would like to install a resistor in series with the lighting to reduce the brightness. Does anyone know what size resistor would work best?

Kirt what type of bulbs does MTH use. If typical incandescent bulbs you can use 18V or better yet 24V bulbs. I have bayonet base bulbs of both voltages and am going to York.
Put a diode in series from the pickup roller wire. Bulbs will be dimmed by about half.

I'd go with Dale's idea, it's cheap and easy. If you want more even lighting, you could always consider LED strips to have a row of dim lights along the whole top of the inside ceiling.
