I finally ventured in to a lashup to pull many double-stack container cars.  Used two SD90MAC's, ps2, early 5v systems.  Creation went smooth, followed Barry's book and found create lashup on the remote.  One of those SD90's went ballistic in sound volume, it was totally uncontrollable.  Finally had to get rid of the lashup.

Ouestion - it is easy to crate the lashup - how do you delete a lashup?  No mention in Barry's book, no menu item on the remote. I had to place each engine on the track, separately, used a different remote and 'feature reset' them.

The other remote has the lashup in it and I can not get rid of it.   Do I have to 'reset remote'?

There should be a SIMPLE way to get rid of a lashup.

Next time I desire a lashup I will use ProtoSound engines and just run them as a team.  No fuss, no bother.

 Bruce,

how do you delete a lashup?

Just as Jonathan said: Menu/System/Engine Setup/Delete Engine, select the lashup, press the thumbwheel and press again to confirm.

No mention in Barry's book, no menu item on the remote.

I must disagree. There most certainly are statements about deleting a lashup!

The first is on page 104 of The DCS Companion 3rd Edition:

The lashup will now appear as an entry in the Active Engine List. After the lashup is created, member engines may not be added or deleted, although the lashup itself may be deleted, or its name or address edited, as with any other DCS engine. It may be selected and operated as if it were an ordinary DCS engine and, when it is selected for operation, (L) will be displayed next to the lashup's name in the DCS Remote's Engine Control Screen.

The second is on page 105:

A lashup may not be operated at the same time that any of its member engines are being operated individually, since this would necessitate starting up the member engine and breaking down the lashup. If a member engine of a lashup is deleted from a DCS Remote or is Factory Reset, all lashups of which it was a member are also deleted. Like individual DCS engines, a lashup may be created in more than one DCS Remote, however, unlike DCS engines it need not have the same DCS ID# in all DCS Remotes in which it is entered.

DCS Book CoverThis and a whole lot more about DCS is all in MTH’s “The DCS Companion 3rd Edition!"

This book is available from many fine OGR advertisers and forum sponsors, or as an eBook or a printed book at MTH's web store!
