My 2003 lionel ac9 says it has a cab light but I do not see it on. I know I can turn on and off the headlight with the aux 2 key but how do you turn on the cab light? thanks for any help.

Try the reset key on the touch pad on the cab2.
What system do you have? The Legacy manual, page 32, shows a "Cab Light Toggle" icon on the touch screen.
Cab lights cannot be turned off on TMCC locos. The bulb may be loose or burned out.
I'm with Rick, bulb is burned out.
In my Legacy GP9 manual it says the AUX2 button of the CAB1:
Controls switch direction. Toggles all lights on/off,
except lights that are wired to track power.
I also run my GP9 using DCS and have found that when idle, I can press the BOOST button to turn on/off the cab light.
We're talking Lionel TMCC here, right?
Yes John, I know. But why not give him some options besides a burned out bulb. If I had not tried it with DCS should I have suspected a burned out bulb too (and would have been wrong)? Isn't it much easier to push a button vice tearing into the engine?
Legacy has cab light control, however TMCC stuff did not have cab light controls. If this were a Legacy locomotive, my advice would be different.
Bob he doesn't have all lights off, and he knows the AUX2 can toggle his headlights. Hence the logic that something else is wrong. G
Yes it is tmcc, but watching a video on youtube of this engine lionel ac9 made in 2003 but just purchased new sealed in box, the light is on all the time which I would not like. Not worth sending in the engine. Just in case how do you get at a light in a vestibule cab?
Shell off and you will see it in a rubber grommet normally. G
