retired locomotive engineer go figure LOCOMOTION
Not enough! But more than I thought on here...too bad those are too young to have
lived during the steam, caboose, passenger train era...people USUALLY model and
collect what they know or once knew....except if there is a financial incentive, as there is in other hobbies...

I am 22, so I think that's under 40.
Anyway, I asked how many people were under 40 probably about a year ago, and I got a good three pages of responses! There are young people still in the hobby
You think? And you're about to get a degree in education? Oy vey!
How did I know you would be the one to respond to this? Just wait until breakfast...

I'm practically 13 (I'll be 13 in about 2 weeks)
40/2 minus a couple. I feel old considering how my layout has grown, how many thingsI've learned about smoke units and LEDs and how many trains I accumulated over time and what the layout used to be. This really shows how many young people like this hobby and there's a lo more on youtube under 20 too. MTH really got me back in the spirit when was interested in command for a while and wanted affordable and quiet track, there track and trains are affordable and pretty nice too which I like. You can imagine it got boring with a 5 by 4 so just last January I went to an eight by five than in July for a birthday present to a nine by 8 and counting. Now I'm up to four Realtrax loops without a problem and three Z1000s along with a Z750. I just for the first time have some grass. Things are looking good on the layout and better than ever.
I am 21 with 40 years experience.

Turning 38 on Saturday.
I'm 35. My mom and dad were married on a caboose and my mom was helping my dad build an HO layout while pregnant with me so I never had a chance. I'm now serving as president of the Tinplate Trackers of Austin, Texas. So if any of y'all are ever down this way give us a shout!

Hopeless. Bred-in-the-bone.
I am 38.
You have to be a over a certain age to get some punchlines. Over forty? You have got to be kidding. Well!!..
34 here. If any of you are familiar with the website reddit, the majority of the users are males in their 20s and 30s. And I've noticed recently that posts about trains are really popular. Any mention of the Train Simulator PC game gets a lot of cheers. So this gives me new hope for our hobby.
Life begins at 40! Slightly past that point by almost 15 years and almost ready to retire!
33 here.
