I run the N&W ES44AC Heritage unit with my UP 4141 GHW Bush SD70ACE. The two powered units pull great and look good together.

It is referred to "power pooling" in the industry.
I dunno. But my older brother was an outside hostler at Shaffer's Crossing in the early 80s. He spoke of handling UP units back then.

I will give it a try.Say your a railroad and you could use a locomotive or 2.You could lease a few locomotives from a leasing company. But you for some reason they might not have anything.Railroads are all short on motive power right now.So they will from time to time will barrow a locomotive from another railroad. In turn the other railroad may borrow some locomotives from said railroad.I live in monroe nc seaboard air line railroad now csx.I have seen locomotives from SP,UP,CN,READING,CP,WC,D&RG,NS,SF,BN,CR,FUL,EMDL,HEML,C&NW
W&LE,COTTONBELT,USARMY.
yes.
Nope Not a one
I see different roads on a single train often.....so I will and have run mixed diesels.
