How to mount MTH and Lionel street lights? (picture attached) | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I am at a loss on this. I have a few pairs of MTH's and few pairs of Lionel Gooseneck street lamps - neither come with mounting screws or nails. The MTH ones have extremely small mounting holes - see picture. Are these meant to be fastened with small brad nails or screws - there's no screws that small I have ever seen? The underside of the base is hollow (not flat) making glue impossible to use, unless a large glob was used to fill up the hollow cavity of the base, but that seems messy and ridiculous - and would ruin the wires should I ever have to remove them. I will be mounting them to 3/16" foam board - which is over wood base.

For the Lionel version - I think I can buy small screws that will work, but am interested in how others fasten these down.

I mounted about a dozen using HO track nails. Mine were going directly into wood.

Paul, try some two-sided carpet tape. You can cover it up with scenery.

Just fill the cavity with hot melt glue. It should fill quickly them put the pole in place while the glue is still hot.
