I have the 4 car set and the 2 car add-on.  While the lights sometime flicker on all the cars (going to look at the track later) I have one car where a set of interior lights go out completely at random and then come back on just as random.   Not the entire car, just a set at one end.  I figure loose wire somewhere inside for that one set.  Can't be at the truck as the other lights inside the same car do not behave this way.

I took out six of the screws that are connected to what appear to be posts that go from the floor to the ceiling but can't figure out if they were the right screws or not, but I cannot get the car apart.

Anyone have the secret handshake to get these cars separated?

Thanks

I have a set of these that I'm going to convert to LED's, mine are the CalTrain cars.  I haven't opened them yet, but I've opened hundreds of MTH cars, and there's usually no magic to the process.

Page four of this user's manual talks about ten screws, so you're four short.  Get the ones at near the ends of the car and you'll have better luck.

If you're going to open them, why not convert to LED lighting, you'll never look back!
