I recently saw some Lionel Legacy engines that I like ! I have my Mth z4000 for power .
Do they run smooth in plain AC power ? Do they Stutter ?

I bought this Lionel Legacy 6-82272 New Haven Ten-Wheeler #816 (new) several years ago and run it frequently, powered conventionally by my MTH Z-4000 transformer. Runs smoothly and has excellent steam sounds and whistle with no apparent problems. I have another one pre-ordered.

Newer Legacy runs very well in conventional mode. One guy here that runs a LOT of Legacy conventionally is Lee Willis, you can talk to him about his experiences, which are generally positive for newer Legacy.
