Yes, it is northern Wisconsin. I believe the depot is still there and is used as a residence.

Dave,
Check out this forum topic on my Hiawatha 4-6-0s. I did the #11 first and later the #10.

(One of the older depots may still be at star lake in private use)
You are correct. I did a little research and discovered that there is a newly built replica of this depot at Star Lake! If you check the photo section of The Milwaukee Road Historical Association Facebook page, and do a search for Star Lake you can see the new replica depot. I guess I will have check it out this summer!

I had forgotten about the one In Wausau, I remember variations of these down in Milwaukee. The last one I remember seeing was on the Beer line. Just a note ( it would be a great thing if all of us that Model "The Road" or even are just fans of it, 3 rail or 2 keep in touch with each other and support these kits.
It nice to see that Im not the lone wolf, up here in the North woods, that there are other Milwaukee Road fans here and the U.P.
So is the tower from Wausau close to the ones in Milwaukee?

very close, there are always slight modifications I remember maybe 3 of them in the Milwaukee area , there were also several other designs

I remember seeing picture of one, maybe in Oshkosh that was very similar. Try contacting Scott at HRM models, he could probably give you an answer.
Well having gone through your catalog, do you have a location where the Wausau Junction. station was?
The octagonal crossing gate house is famous. Walther's Cornerstone made a plastic one in HO. I always wished Walther's would scale it up. This one in the photo, alas, hidden behind a modern signal box, is paper in O and another in S hides toward the back of the layout. It just about went bananas building the two octagonal buildings, and as I finished the O scale one, I put a tiny image of the original Marilyn Monroe calendar down in the bottom storage area. Of course, there's no way now to even see what's on the calendar photo.

wonderful stuff !
guess I will take a run up there too
Even though I have the paper octagonal gate keeper's houses, now that I know about the HRM kits, I will get at least one of those, too.

Now I had forgotten about the paper version.

Does anyone know if this fellow is around right now? I have sent a couple of e-mails with no response. Would like to know for possible purchases.
Scott and I have been in e-mail contact yesterday with no problems. This is the e-mail address that I have been using. hrmlasermodels@gmail.com
Have you checked your spam folder? If you still can't get a reply, let me know and I will have him contact you.
Thanks for the offer. I did use the correct e-mail, on the 17th, but no words yet. I will wait patiently for his reply, rather than bugging him.
Thanks.
