The masterpiece hudsons were manufactured sprung and at the correct height. I can adjust pilot height with shims on the main spring bolt for the pilot truck. It was actually too low and I raised the nose a bit.

Mario, is the K-Line Hudson 'too high' in some manner?

Rather than lowering the loco, I think I would attempt to lower the pilot. I don't run the K-Line any more so I haven't studied how one might do that.
