Tonight, February 22, 2023, I learned that I had officially earned the designation, distinction and honor of becoming a Master Model Railroader #730!

The Achievement Program (AP) began in 1961. To date only 733 people have become a MMR. That is less than 12 per year on average. There are 11 categories and one has to earn a minimum of 7 certificates to earn a MMR designation.

I know 3 other people right here in Avon, Indiana, who are closing in on their respective MMRs.

I am very proud to be a Member of the National Model Railroad Association! The best thing by far is all the people I have met along the way.

I am the 3rd 3-railer.

Thank you to OGR for all your support and the articles and the wonderful video of the Glacier Line.

Congratulations John.

It would be nice to see an article on the requirements for earning this designation.

WOW. After writing the above, I went to the website and looked at the requirements. This is really something special and requires a great deal of time and experience. Thanks John; this is quite an achievement.

Here is a link to what is required.
