I have a two bedroom aprtment. One room is my train room. I buy a lot of used engines second hand. I love doing the work on my engines if I can. I am always learning espcially by my own mistakes sometimes. I always needed a work bench to do repairs on. I thought I would never have the room.
I had this old top shelf piece to an old commputer desk I got free at work years ago. I mostly kept it full of clutter. This sat. I finnally decided it was time to clean it off and do something with it. Having aquired another legacy 990 base and another tiu. Gave me the chance to see if my others would fit on this shelf. Luck have it they fit nicely. so with an idea in my head as to what I wanted on my work bench I set out to build a working test/ repair station that was functionable. Yes it sits a bit low but it works for me. I am still adding things. Will move the engine box on the left and add some hanging shelf baskets to store things. Another needed item is I need a magnifying swivel light/lamp,but the majority of my workstation is complete for what I need anyway. Here is a couple of photos of my accomplishment. I never would have thought I could have gotten so much in such a small room/ space, but I have. Hope this encourages others as well with small spaces to have a work station area. Enjoy the snapshots.
