hi guys i got great news i found a club called the Eastern Carolina Railroaders and i actually joined as i went to a meet yesterday. there was some awesome trains there mostly o gauge. most if not all brought their own equipment. i myself had a blast and that smell of ozone brought back so many memories. the club meet monthly at different people's layouts hopefully i can make most meets. i had 1 problem me and another member were gonna doublehead 2 mpc era geeps but right when i was aligning the wheels of the chessie gp20 somebody told us the motor burnt out and then shortly after that the other unit a rio grande gp9 the motor burnt out in that one too. but hey i'm good. I asked if i could bring my own engine and i was told yes. so next hit of a hobby shop i'm gonna look for an engine i can run at meets. I'm thinking about an old PS 1 SD90MAC or SD70MAC as i've heard from some youtubers you can get these for as low as 120 bucks and i've heard you can upgrade these but my question is it just a software upgrade or do i have to physically switch out boards and the other thing is sound i plan on patching my unit for allegheny federation Phoenix Transport and i want it to sound like a PHXT unit with crew dialog from my sci fi character Phoenix Starr. She has a voice like the actress Shailene Woodley and i can't just ask a celeb who doesn't know me to make voice recordings for my engine. is there a way i can track her voice footprint , record the dialog with my voice or a friend's voice and tweak it until it sounds like my character and then once i have the file upload it into the engine. I want it to be like my character Phoenix Starr is touring other railroads as she often leased power and helped other roads back in the late 90s and early 2000s. one thing i fear is PHXT leased equipment is gonna be banned on these other layout because i'm so young in fact i'd say i'm the youngest member and PHXT is fictional. I also made a video of my visit as i took tons of photos and videos
also somebody named Nick said i could come over to his place for ops sessions as he has alot of my favorite engines like the lionel GE demo unit from 1996 as long as i call ahead and make plans
