Legacy Station states a pobable price of 2500 which is the number which has been strongly rumored so i figure why wait anyway. exact price is still to be set by lionel. PLUS I CAN STOP WAITING FOR THAT DARNED CATALOG. by the way i bought cab 4014.

Oh yeah, I suspect a good many are doing the same thing.  Then in typical bay fashion we will find them in droves selling at 30-50% mark-up.

I once hand a rather long conversation via email with the good folks at M.B. Klein on how to spot the hooligans buying product in mass and dumping it on the bay there-by screwing over their customer base.

Suffice to say, they are now on the look out, and believe it not, some savvy internet train dealers are also pimping on the bay.  (no names mention)

Every idea, from the internet itself to Craigslist, to Kick-starter to the Bay, design for the average person has been highjacked and polluted.

This is my plan.  If I can find a shop where I can get the loco and the Legacy controller set for less than the MSRP of the loco, they'll be getting my money.

Not even close.

Allan,

Kind of like Key Import's D&RGW L-96 2-8-8-2 that's going for around $3,395.00 or Car & Locomotive Shop's Southern Pacific 4-10-2 for the cheap price of $5,495.00, and those are just two out of many more examples for just O scale.

I'm with you.  Don't want this to turn into a "bay" thread, but I fully expect to see what you said.

Like said above, I am in no hurry.  And, yes, it may only be a few $s of saving in light of a several thousand $ engine, but whoever has the cheapest price will get my business.

I know I'll buy one, but undetermined on who gets my business.  Forum sponsors and past purchase dealings will play in the decision.  But the biggest factor will be cost.
