Speaking of Dayton's, I remember seeing a Lionel Canadian Pacific F-3 aluminum car passenger set in the main Dayton's in Minneapolis when I was young. Apparently 1957, being the only year Lionel made that set. I remember it was alone on top of a circular clothes rack, which looking back seems an odd place to put it.
Wannamaker's Department Store has been mentioned by a number of people. Lionel actually made a Wannamaker boxcar in 1982, the no. 9466, to commemorate the store.
