AN UPDATE...

The INSERT IMAGE function should be used when you are linking to a photo already hosted somewhere on the internet.  For example, this Ameri-Build logo image...

...is stored on this web server and used on the forum pages. I used the INSERT IMAGE function and just pasted the URL of the image ( https://ogrforum.com/ws/Forum%20Specials%20Button%20-%20AmeriBuilds.jpg) into the "Source" box. I did not put anything into the dimensions fields.

THIS IMAGE of the 734...

...is stored on the hard drive on my computer as opposed to a photo hosting service on the internet. So I used the "Add Attachment" function to post this image.

There ya go! I learned something new about our own forum today! How about that.

Exactly Rich, I am using "Insert Image."  Some time ago I tried the "attachment" (old forum) function which brought and displayed three or four lines of personal metadata.  I did not realize this until later looking over the thread.  Had to edit it out.  Tried this a few more times editing data out before posting.  But just went back to "Insert Image."

So what are the "Dimension" boxes for?  What values are to be used here?  Now when I post here my images are really small.  When I post these same images on another forum the image fills the page.

There is no copyright shown in the original image that you attached.

While these may be the same picture, they are not the same FILE. The hosted image has the copyright text in it. The attached image does not, but it was uploaded that way. This server did not remove it.

I AM well aware of what you state.  I just very factually stated that using the "attached" function post the image sans the "copyright."  Thus an obvious reason to only use the hosted images.

Ron, you have misunderstood what I am saying.

The image which you attached does not have the copyright text in it, so of course, it does not appear. CLICK HERE to see the raw, uploaded image. Note there is no copyright text within that image.

The image which you inserted has the copyright text within the image itself. CLICK HERE to see the raw, inserted image. It is a DIFFERENT IMAGE from the one you attached. It is not the same file. It has had the copyright text added to it. If you were to attach this image, it would display exactly the same as the inserted image.

This forum server does NOTHING to the images to alter them in any way other than size. It will resize a large image to fit the format, but that's it. The images are not altered in any way to remove copyright info or anything else for that matter.
