In a event that is nothing short of a minor miracle, The Madison Hardware Story which was supposed to be delayed another three weeks in transit arrived yesterday. We will now have it in stock for York and we will be signing copies at the National Toy Train Museum on Wednesday from 10 to 4. Those of you have preordered and will require shipping, we will start shipping after York as our supplies are still on order. It's a very exciting time for us and I can't wait to share the story with many of you.

A York miracle!
One more reason to be excited for next week.

How come the label on the crate reads "Curmudgeon on the Rails, The Rich Melvin Story" ?
Glad it all worked out Derek!

Should be Orange hall booth DD10
I pre ordered the special signed additions for my Dad' 89th B-Day. I was afraid this would not make it in time. Hoping to get it before 11/7.
He lived about 4 blocks from the store and was their all the time. I was able to get their as a young boy with him and my grandfather and I still have some of the items. Well over 50 years old.
He is gonna love this and this just made a crummy day much better.

Yippie! Looking forward to getting my copy!

Derek,
I ordered a dual signed version can I pick it up from you at York?
Brad
Derek,
Will you have them for sale at the TCA Museum signing?

Brad, I will try and remember to bring yours. Since all of them are accounted for I did not want to risk mixing them in with the rest of the books.

Yes! Will be happy to sell you one and sign for you.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but all those folks myself included, who pre-paid way back when you first announced the book, helped fund your initial printing expenses and completion of the project?
Shouldn't these people get their books first and not after York, as they paid you in good faith and have been waiting?

Hi Patrick,
Actually the book was 100% paid to the printer before I ever took an order from anyone.
Also, this isn't really an issue of playing favorites. Up until two days ago we did not expect the books to arrive until the 25th or after. Our shipping supplies are still on order and if they arrive before York, there is not going to be enough time to pack the hundreds of orders we have and get them out the door. I will get these out the door as soon as I can. Thanks for being patient.
Thanks for your reply.
Derek,
So if we pre ordered one of the "special" books - Will you bring them if requested or prefer to ship?
I would like mine shipped rather than pick it up in order to make sure it is correct - I am giving it as a gift - the only issue I have is will we get them by 11/3?
Kevin
Looking forward to reading it!

Hey Kevin,
I absolutely will bring them if we're going to be cutting this close. I'd rather have you have it in your hands than miss by a few days. I'll keep them set aside, just remind me that I have one for you and we will grab it.
Thanks,
Derek
