I have had a sewage cleanout in the corner of my train room since the beginning of the train room. Today I decided to cover it with a piece of foam board.
Next, I would like to paint or otherwise scenic it to look like more than a covered over hold in the corner. But, alas, I'm not very imaginative when it comes to this type of thing.
What brilliant and creative ideas do you have for what to do with it?

Since you have a transmission tower nearby, backdrop photographs (on both walls?) of an electric generating station would be good fit.

Agree with Melgar, and a hovering helicopter doing line inspection. Also a partial dam view with water being released, generating the power Mel speaks of <smile>
I'd paint the cover with matching wall pant and then install a power station big enough to block most of the cover.
The problem with backdrops is that, unless you're doing the whole wall, it never looks great where they end.
A few inexpensive rolls of sky and cloud paper from Hobby Lobby would also work. The top and bottom can be mounted to small wood strips and then hung from the ceiling or mounted to the top of the walls, rather than adhering it to the wall surface.
Paint it the same color as the wall and you'll be about 90% of the way there. Then just stick a couple trees in front of it. Job done. If you ever need it, dont make it too complicated to get to it.
Ah, if only I had that wall paint... was that color when we moved here (room was a rarely used basement office for prior owner) and I just installed the trains 6 years later. I am planning to make some fluffy clouds. So the idea of sky/cloud paper might work well. I didn't realize Hobby Lobby had that, so I'll have to take a look.
Here's one... they also make one called "Sky" which is a little "wispier" - they are both $10 @and come in 12' X 4' rolls.
As I said, you can attach thin wood strips to the top and bottom and hang them rather than glue them to the wall surface - there's a thread on the Forum dealing with how to do that.
I like both ideas- power plant backdrop or sky. Either would work well.
