I got some Atlas IR track similar to Lionel FasTrack with my WBB Lakeshore set and decided to use it for the first time this year.  Not bad.  It seems to go together more easily than FasTrack but the pins fall out too easily.  I actually bought some extra pieces to get a good-sized loop around the Christmas tree.

After running fine for a week a while, everything I put on the loop quit. Nothing. Checked the voltage at the transformer and at the terminals on the terminal track and had full 20.5V from the PW ZW, but nothing to rails of the terminal track.  So the problem was clearly between the terminal track terminals and the rails.

Turns out the metal plate connecting the outer rails and the terminal doesn't have continuity with the metal insert that the terminal screw screws into .  Bizarre.  Easy short term fix....I soldered a wire to the plate and ran it out thru the terminal insert to connect to my feeder wire.  Back up and running instantly but it's not an attractive fix.  Might have to drill a hole through the board next year, but can't do that now with the tree in the way.

Any explanations? Anyone else use this track and experience similar problems?
