Hi Everyone,
I would like to get your thoughts on this topic.  How many of you would be interested in RJ Corman hoppers from weaver?  If so would you like 3 or 4 bay hoppers. The cars I see in Clearfield PA are not 3 or 4 Bay but this is the closest thing I think that would work.  I  am debating on doing a custom run,  just need to  know if there would be enough people interested. Any input would be great.

Or what would you like to see?
Thanks.

Berkshire Valley Inc. was planning to have Weaver Models produce a Thrall Car Coal Gondola just like the one in the photo sometime around 1995.

I would like those Thrall Car Coal Gondolas in the Burlington Northern scheme since those used to be the trains that came through Michigan in the 1990's.

If the people at Weaver could have the Thrall Car coal gondola as their next new car, then R J  CORMAN could be one of the schemes.

They would be $48.00 plus shipping. The only problem is I need to at least a 100 cars to get them at that price so quite a few people would have to be interested. Also like I said it doesn't matter to me what the rolling stock is, Corman has hoppers in the PA Lines but I believe they are mostly Gondolas on the rest of their lines.

I wish MTH would make them but I don't believe they will due to the amount of people that would be interested. Although they have been producing more short lines than Lionel so it is possible someday.

Thanks James. I could always use a reference picture to go off of.

Athearn has made the Thrall Car high-sided gondola in HO Scale.

The Thrall Car gondola was a common car and they can still be seen in service being used for scrap service.

Why they call it a hopper is strange since it has no hopper bays.

Somebody has to make it also in O Scale. It can be made as a large one-piece casting with a few additional detail parts. Make it for 2-Rail and 3-Rail operators. Athearn Thrall Car

The Menards locations are in the Burlington Northern and Union Pacific region. BN and UP operated many trains of the Thrall Car high-sided gondolas.
