I am trying to be pre-emptive with my ground plane wire installation. So far I have two parallel tracks in place on what will be a lower level of the layout covered 90% with a level above with multiple tracks and a small yard with three parallel tracks in place with no tracks planned above them. I now have no signal issues but when the upper level is installed, putting a ground plane wire(s) above the lower level tracks will be impossible.

Question #1: I know that a ground plane wire should be installed above the lower level tracks and I will do that. There will be a section (14 feet or so) of the lower level where the two parallel tracks will be "open air" with no track above. Should I somehow continue the ground plane wire so that it flows down from the underside of the level above and between the two tracks that will be uncovered and "open air?" (Pardon me please if this sounds like a stupid question).

Question #2: If I have a ground plane wire running above the lower level tracks, do I ALSO need a ground plane wire running in between any parallel tracks on the upper level?

Question #3: Do I need a ground plane wire running between all yard tracks surrounding a roundhouse?

Many thanks to all of you for your help !!

Eliot
