Wondering how many others would be interested in a Lionel or GGD 21" Pennsy 21 Roomette Sleeper? These also could be offered as coaches in Penn Central, MARC Rail, and numerous other commuter and tourist lines.

Sounds like a great idea. Would give me an excuse to add Braddock Inn to my varnish collection. The Colonial-series lounges would be a good idea as well.
Only example I found was the MAC Shops kit. Dunno if he's still in business.

Interesting. Any pics or links? What are these kits made of?

They are one piece aluminum body car kits with cast ends. The last I talked with Haynes was about two or so years ago and he was still selling kits. They are not difficult to build but it isn't a 10 minute job either. You need to drill holes for grabirons, etc. You also need to paint and decal the cars.
Haynes does not provide trucks for them. I have used Golden Gate Depot trucks on my Mac Shops kits.
On my kit, the cast parts require either a lot of work or replacement. The ends need a lot of careful file work to fit, especially to the contour of the body. The various underframe bits are, I thought, poor. Fortunately, there are vendors who sell much better metal or resin replacements.
Because of the unique sides of the Budd cars (PRR versions, at least), MAC Shops is the only game in town.
RHEIL, thanks for the info. I would be painting these in various paint schemes anyway. I have not had luck finding GGD 3rail trucks, would Atlas trucks work?
Any contact info for Haynes?
If you aren't up to a MAC Shops kit, PRR ordered 7, 21-roomette cars from ACF and another 2 from Pullman. I assume that the floorplans are identical to the Budd cars. Union Station products has plastic sides for the ACF and Budd cars.
So far as I can tell, the proper trucks are the same as the ones originally produced by American Lightweight; I see that Wiseman sells kits for the same truck configuration. In either case you'll have to come up with 3-rail wheelsets.
