I recently noticed many of my passenger car lights flash and flicker more in one direction than the other. If I back the train up, the flickering may stop or vice versa. Clean track and reasonably clean rollers but I can't think of any explanation for more/frequent flashing in one direction versus another. Could this just be the "nature of the beast"? I have no other running problems and this is more of an aesthetic gripe.

I should note some cars and some passenger trains behave differently and some flash more than others.

Okay, before all the nay sayers jump in on this one, here is a little trick that will amaze you!

Wipe the collector rollers with a small amount of WD40 on the tip of a Q-Tip. Then wipe off the excess. Next do whatever you can to get WD40 into the bearings where the axle ends insert. (Unfortunately there is no way of wiping that excess off, unless you disassemble the truck, which pretty much defeats the purpose!).

Put the car back on the track and the flickering lights will disappear and stay on solid.

I have been using this trick for years and it is very effective! Lasts a couple of months before a new application is necessary.

If you don't agree, try it on one car! The results are quite spectacular!

Thanks,

Mike
