Hi,

I got these cars for Xmas. I about fell over when I saw the lady on the smart phone in the full length dome car, I also like the guy smoking a pipe and reading a book in the observation car. Had to share this with the Forum.

Love these cars. I have been waiting for years for the right set. We took a trip to Alaska a few years ago, and rode on the train. I couldn't wait to buy a Alaska set after the trip. I bought a pair of ARR SD70's and couldn't find the right passenger cars until now. Having fun pulling freight and passengers now.

All I need now is a set of Princess Cruise Lines dome cars.

Love the modern figures.

But there may not be regular cell service on some of the train's route.  There is the Iridium satellite service.  Expensive, and may have service gaps, due to facts of AK being so far northn and the position of the "birds".

Strange comment , Dominic. Whittier and Seward to Anchorage and north to Fairbanks and south to Eilson AFB has always been the only way to get around. The highway and the railroad follow the rivers and valleys.

If you have Verizon, you're good.
