Since K-Line is gone, is there enough available Superstreets available out there to put down a highway system on my up and coming 8x16' railroad? Or, does lack of product dictate that I stay with my current static road system?

There's still superstreets out there. Trainworld sent an email out yesterday actually, saying they still had some of it left. There's other shops that I'm sure still have it too. If you look around, you should be able to find enough of it to work out something.
Not too late. Plenty of superstreets available. Bachmann took over the Superstreets line and it is now called EZ Streets. The color of the roadway is a little different. The Train Shack in Burbank , Cal has some, (800)572-9929. The Train Engineer in Las Vegas had boxes, (702)597-1754. Good luck,
Bob
No, its definitely not too late. Bachmann now manufacturers all of the different track components under the brand name E-Z Street. Their parts are exactly like Superstreets except a darker color of "asphalt gray": in fact you can mix Superstreets and E-Z Street track pieces in one loop, run old Superstreets vehicles or the new E-X Streets vehciles. Bachman offers a variety of vans that can be run, or make good fodder for modification into cars, buses, etc.
For example, these guys are only one retailer with a good selection of it. I've even
http://www.modeltrainstuff.com...erstreets-s/2549.htm
and Amazon has a lot in: Toys & Games, serach for E-Z Street

Western Depot still has some K-Line Super Streets left, even the turn-around for Super Streets.
As Lee Willis mentions the new EZ Streets by Bachmann will mate with Super Streets.
However Bachmann is only making the intersections, curves and straight sections so far, no switches in EZ Streets.
Also Fastrac hook-up wires work for Super Streets.

Gentlemen,
This is good info, ever sense Lee posted about his trailer truck I have been interested in some of the EZ streets, may eventually invest in some of it, for another layout.

Trainworld has some left over Super Streets as well, just got an email about it from Trainworld.
Also some trolleys and even the Plymouth switcher set by K-Line runs on the Super Streets.
The new EZ Streets by Bachmann has a different color look to it, but is supposed to be similar to K-Line's Super Streets.

Lee and others:
I got that email too but look carefully at what Superstreets track components are actually available on that website and also on other websites such as Charles Ro and Western Depot’s and you’ll probably find that no one has D-21 curves nor curve-to-straight sections which are both very important components. You can't make a layout with curves without any curve-to-straight sections. I looked several months ago and no one had them. As already mentioned E-Z streets is the replacement product which is currently in production by Williams/Bachmann and as Lee pointed out, there’s plenty of E-Z streets available to use to start building a new road or trolley system. So there’s no sense starting a new layout using Superstreets as you’ll end filling in the holes with E-Z streets which although they are interchangeable they are a much different color.
Plus Superstreets never made switches (other than a Y). Bachmann has promised E-Z Streets switches but has not yet cataloged or announced them. Hopefully we’ll hear something about them at York!

Here you go.
I always check Amazon first for anything I think would be hard to find. They have 17 sets of D21 in stock as of ten seconds ago. Two months ago my LHS told me that that D21 curves were hard to find - out of stock at many places and supposed to be shipped in March (which, I figure, means by today, but from where?). I found ten packs that afternoon on - you guessed it - Amazon.
Edit: by the way, no one ever made switches for Superstreets. They listed them in catalogs but never made them. Lionel offered aY intersection return loop thing for a while. You can still find them at some stores, but its not a switch.
some of the Western Depot K-Line Superstreets vans are the original (first edition) models from 2002 timeframe, with metal chassis, e-boards (F-N-R) that run in either AC or DC.
Hi Lee:
I was specifically referring to SUPERSTREETS D-21 curves not being available as I was responding to a few other posters comments that there are dealers advertising that they still have SUPERSTREETS available (such as the Trainworld email many of us just received). That was helping to make my point that anyone wanting to start a new streets layout might as well start out with E-Z STREETS which are current production and readily available as you had posted earlier, rather than SUPERSTREETS.
Hope that clarifies what I posted,
Bill
Oh, I didn't understand I make no distinction between the Super- or E-Z track pieces anymore. I mix them as I'm building my roads and them paint them anyway so it doesn't matter. The D21 curves were very hard to get for a while before Bachmann ramped up their production, but they Bachmann apparently had some production problems with the plant for a while and that is why their D21 curves were in short supply for a while, too.
What seems impossible to get anymore are most of the Superstreets vehicles that Bachmann is not yet producing: the Vintage truck (the only 'Streets vehicle with wheels small enough that you can bash it into a car rather than a truck), and the School bus and the big UPS-style step van, which are the best to bash/use parts from the make tractor trailers.
They need to import O-27/31/36 track so one could run standard RR street running! And larger trolleys, LRT and electric switchers.
I don't know much about EZ Streets. Is Bachmann planning on expanding this line with a larger variety of track pieces?

Right now WBB has not said anything about making any additional track pieces for EZ Streets. Wait until the April York PA trainshow and see what WBB announces!

I was in a hobby store a few days ago and they have super streets here is the web site.

i hope this helps. i know he has a lot of it on hand.
The original SuperStreets is still available from a number of surges, some of which have been cited here. I'm not sure about the availability of E-Z Streets (same thing but with a darker color plastic roadbed) because I haven't purchased any. I have a good amount of SuperStreets still waiting to be put to good use on some sort of trolley operation. I have a good number of O gauge trolleys and traction is one of my major hobby and prototype interests.
Even Ready To Roll in north Miami FL, may have a few Super Streets items left.
Not many hobby shops close to me are going to have Williams anymore.
If you want the new EZ Streets, you may have to order from Trainworld or Western Depot.
