im looking for a lional tech.. was told by one tech ,only a lional tech can buy a sound board from lional..he hasnt gotton back to me yet.. I want to put a tmcc in the S1 3rd rail PRR Duplex that I'd just got and did body repairs to it.. I love the lional S1 sound.. its better then MTH's sound..can anyone help me please..

Non OEM sounds (such as the one you are asking about) are available on a replacement basis only, not new sale. Are there any sound sets that are close to your needs from an aftermarket viewpoint?
Is there any chance that Lionel will release some of these non-OEM sounds at some point for sale?

Actually, that's the RailSounds commander, and I suspect most of us in this thread know quite well what sounds are offered for that product. You can see the list on the ERR Website, if you're interested in seeing what's available. The ERR Sound Commander has been listed in several Lionel catalogs recently, but is has been discontinued for several years and is not available. Oh, and Bill at Modern Toy Train Parts offers a discount on ERR products if you're interested.
ok,so what all would i need to convert.for qsi to tmcc? or somthing like that..the old qsi,i subspected there somthing up with it..think it might be a 3000 series..turn the sound down to nothing and i can hit direction bottom on the trans and its work.. turn the volum up and you have to use the lever control to turn on and off to work for for and rev..just would like a to a great sound and funtion system thats on a lional S1.. worked on mine till 4am to install and get working again the green marker lights.. today it going to be the fire box and cab light..led being used on all lighting of cource..I have to say this S1 is a very smooth runner!! and fast too!!
To my knowledge, there is no conversion from QSI sounds to TMCC, you have to use the RailSounds boards that are available at ERR. There have been a number of discussions about alternate sounds for non-OEM RailSounds boards, but Lionel isn't moving on it right now at least.
i ment to put another sound system in my loco.. meanning gutting it out to put a new system..
In that case, did you look at the ERR Website? They have the RailSounds Commander option with a few different sound packages. You can also get ERR products at a discount from Boxcar Bill on the forum here.
