I got a great deal on a WBB 72' PRR Stainless Steel set. The set consists of a Baggage 4"coaches" and an Observation [Excellent
no PRR DOME cars!] However on closer examination of these "coach" cars, I wonder if they are really coach cars, or Sleeper cars, or Rommettes?

These cars ARE made of plastic so they can be corrected if needed. I am considering turning one "coach" into a dining car.

They're toy train cars, call them whatever you want. Personally, seeing "Broadway Limited" on silver cars is at least as big a problem as the wrong(?) car type.
The window spacing suggests some type of Pullman (berth)/roomette accommodations, rather than a standard coach where you sleep sitting up at night. Either type of car could be turned into a diner with a little rearranging of the windows at the end where the galley would be.
It looks like a Pullman 10-6 sleeper to me (10 roomettes and 6 bedrooms). On the "A" side (first two pictures), the three wide spaced windows are the aisle side by the 6 bedrooms and 5 closer together windows are the 5 roomettes on that side. On the "B" side, the three pairs of two each uneven spaced windows are the bedrooms (left side of the picturs), and the 5 even spaced windows are the roomettes (right side of the pictures).
Actually slept in a couple of these back when Amtrak ran the old heritage fleet cars.

Definitely not a coach. As stated, a sleeper, I'd say.
Well I almost got it. PRR class P85m 1480-1488 and P85l 1500-1547. Built as 10 roomette, 6 double bedroom Budd sleeper converted to lounge and 72 seat passenger coaches.
Here is the PC paint scheme leased to Amtrak in the end.
While it doesn't look it this is a coach car.

You are correct that the PRR did convert some Budd built sleepers to coaches, but those cars never were painted in the Congressional (or Senator) Tuscan letter board/stripe plus keystone scheme - before or after their conversion. Coach body or not, it is a very good looking toy train.
